After at least somewhat understanding how Tensegrity works, we wondered how we could plan a completely original tower design. At first, we looked into the math that revolves around this principle and quickly realized that it was far from the relatively simple math that we were taught in school so far. So instead we looked into other options and found out about Matlab. This is a software that can be used for a plethora of things mainly math-related and could spare us from actually having to do the complicated math in question ourselves. During our research, we found out about two different Matlab programs that can help us plan our Tensegrity tower by calculating its dimensions so the whole construction is as stable as possible. The problem with them is that it can be pretty difficult to get into Matlab and the programs we would have to work with can also be quite difficult to grasp. But we’ll try to figure it out to the best of our ability!
