Summary 2023/2024

Team MAI consisted of 30 pupils and some blueshirts in 2023/2024. We split up into several cooperating divisions in order to be able to work not only on one robotics project. More projects were realised this season than ever before!

In a nutshell: There was a lot of work, but even more fun in 2023/2024.

Junior.Ing

Engineering is not only about robots. It is also about having fun while sitting in a roller coaster. Three girls built an impressive one with dangerous, life threatening jumps. Well… almost… 😉

It was the first time that we participated in the competition Junior.ING. It is a competition to promote civil engineering. This years theme was to build a roller coaster. We focused on the hexagon as structural element for our construction. We were awarded third place on the state level. 😎

CanSat

We took part in the CanSat competition. We built a can sized satellite with a very unique hull. The satellite managed to successfully carry out its secondary mission. We were awarded fourth place during the launch campaign in the most beautiful city of Bremen.

Schüler bauen Roboter

This year’s task of competition Schüler bauen Roboter was extremely difficult. Team MAI joined the competition with two seperate teams. It was quite a surprise at the final: the junior team – although it was by far the youngest team in the competition – produced the best result at the end. Therefore more than deserved the junior team won the season 2023/2024 of Schüler bauen Roboter.

Student Robotics

It was an incredible journey for the five girls who made up the team for Student Robotics. And they really outperformed! As ladybugs from outer space they not only won the Robot and Team Image Award but also ranked first place in the finals! It was a great trip to our friends in the UK. Thanks to all the support we received during the finals!

Eurobot

Team MAI sent two teams to the german preliminary round in Gießen: MAI senior (16-17 years old) and MAI junior (14-15 years old). Remember: this is a competition for students at universities. And it was a really tough fight: Literally blood, sweat and tears! But Team MAI is really proud of its members: MAI junior managed to win the second place, MAI senior won the first place!

Team MAI organized the trip to the Eurobot finals in La Roche-syr-Yon. And after several adrenalin filled days we are very pleased with the results: MAI is on eighth place in the international finals, once again performing as the best german team!

Solarmobil

We joined another competition in season 2023/2024 for the first time: Solarmobil. Three girls built a small … a very small car that is solar powered. We really enjoyed the preliminiary finals in Augsburg. Those girls did a great job against all odds: seventh place!

MAI Cup

We hosted our own competition once again. This year’s theme: The Pac Bot. 😎

Put in a nutshell

It was another exciting and successful year:

  • hosting a competition: the MAI Cup
  • third place in Junior.ING on the state level
  • fourth place in CanSat
  • first place in Schüler bauen Roboter
  • first place in Student Robotics
  • Robot and Team Image Award in Student Robotics
  • first place in in the german Eurobot preliminary round (MAI senior)
  • second place in in the german Eurobot preliminary round (MAI junior)
  • eighth place in the Eurobot finals (best german team)

None of these achievements would have been possible without the ongoing support from families, friends and sponsors. Thank you very much!
