Sustainable Development: Malala Yousafzai – The Story of a Hero

While some of us have just finished an important piece of work for school (and some also had their well-earned holidays…), there has still been some progress on our sustainable development project:

We have been thinking a lot about “Quality Education” lately and besides noticing that we ourselves are very lucky in that regard, we’ve also created some kind of quiz about someone who has set a very good example on how to fight for better education:

Malala Yousafzai! She had this blog called “Gul Makai” and besides of course oppression by the Taliban, one of the biggest problems was not being able to go to school! But the Taliban obviously didn´t want her writing about this on the internet and it only got worse when she got famous and had some tv-interviews about this topic. So, she got shot by them in October 2012, but she recovered and eventually became UN Messenger of Peace, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize! The story of a true hero.

We think her story shows us that you don’t have to be a grown-up to be a hero and maybe even change the world!
