At the end of the student robotics blog we would like to tell you about the finals: Unfortunately there were a few difficulties on the first day, such as a broken tire part and a technical problem for the Blueshirts. But after we were able to replace the tire part with a 3D printed one from another team and all technical problems were eliminated, our robot was able to show what it can do. When we finally reached the final on Sunday after a few successful rounds, the tension was particularly high. The whole team, as well as family and friends who were watching the live stream from home, were excited until the last second. But then it was said “Team MAI won!”. Of course we were very happy, but not only that we achieved first place, but also that we also won the “Robot and Team Image Award”. This year our motto was “Ladybugs from outer space”. Our robot looked the same, which many other teams asked us about.
The evening before we went back to Germany, we celebrated our victory in a nice pub in Southampton and went to bed tired but very happy.
