Team MAI consisted of 14 pupils and several blueshirts in 2024/2025. We split up into several cooperating divisions in order to be able to work not only on one robotics project. Instead of experimenting with new competition formats as in previous years, the focus this year was primarily on consolidating participation in existing competitions.
Nonetheless: There was a lot of work, but even more fun in 2025/2026.
- JuniorING: We built a tower with an extremely unusual design.
- Schüler bauen Roboter: We designed an tank-like robot that ultimately won first place in the competition. At the same time, our team managed to make it the youngest competitor ever to succeed in the competition.
- Student Robotics: A robot that could grasp, lift, and transport up to five tokens at once! We presented this mechanical monster at this year’s Students Robotics Competition. And in the end, we received an Honourable Mention for our Robot and Team Image.
- Eurobot: The team developed a robot that was the only one in the German preliminary round capable of performing the core task of the game: building the grandstands. This secured the team an excellent second place in Germany. The robot was completely redesigned and rebuilt for the World Cup in France. As a result, we were one of the few international teams capable of building triple grandstands (link to youtube). The team came in 10th place against the university teams and was even awarded the Innovation Award by the jury. This prize honors the one (university) team worldwide that stands out in the competition with a particularly creative or technically advanced solution. The award recognizes innovative approaches to the design or functionality of the robot that clearly stand out from standard solutions and contribute to the further development of robotics. It honors ideas that represent real added value for the competition and the robotics community. Our team was honored with this award… Wow….
